The only way to save FIFA16 is by taking drastic measures

Every goalkeeper in FIFA 16 is now as good as Tim Howard, but only nine times out of ten. The latest keepers have been made more realistic, in so much as they vary their style of save and run out more, only to either change their mind and backtrack or attempt a leaping punch. However, they’re now ridiculously hard to beat. Fire 20 potential goal of the years at them, in a row, and they’ll pull off inhuman saves. Yet they’ll then randomly let in a daisy cutter from a weird angle or mess up a simple punch. In other words, they’ve all become Robert Green. The search for the perfect FIFA goalie continues.

Fifa is on its last thread of making a beautiful simulation of Football. With their FIFA Ultimate Team cash cow it doesn't look like they care either on improving the game play. With PES really getting better it wont be long before PES is back on top and Fifa is the inferior game. The only way they can save FIFA16 is by taking drastic measures on a very broken game that is on life support. But realism and immersion don't always mean more fun, and that's been my biggest problem with the last few years of FIFA. While huge strides forward have been made in terms of the infrastructure around the game (online play, Ultimate Team, etc), the gameplay on-pitch has taken a step back for every step forward. At various times headers have been overpowered, defending has been too easy, or too difficult.

Certain kinds of shots have been too effective. In particular, the game has felt like it's getting slower with each new animation and skill control added and, while it's no easy feat balancing such a sophisticated engine, it's not really felt like it's becoming a better football game with each iteration. EA would do well to use their various licenses to incorporate as many playing styles as possible. They should let Iniesta dance with the ball and John Terry rough up opponents, and introduce mentality and aggression as well as unique animations and passing ranges as the game goes on. And some players should be allowed to walk around the pitch instead of jogging.

Celebrations and unique boots should not be an afterthought: player individuality is one area where PES still reigns supreme over FIFA. At the moment, every player feels the same which really detracts from the experience. In short, EA need to concentrate on the personal side of football for a change. By staying compact, you will force your opponent to try to attack the wings. If you have 5 or 6 players back in the center of your area you should be winning your headers. The key thing here is the goal is in the middle of the pitch so therefore, you want to try your opponent into wider areas where they cannot score from.

The highest conversion cross at this point is a longer, more powerful lofted cross to the far post IF you have a player making the far post run either alone, or ahead of his defender. FIFA AI is getting better -- this kind of run is made all the time, usually by opposing wingers. More than ever, this is a huge part of getting your headers right. The settings you put on the ball, including where you are directing it with your right stick and where the power bar goes up to are huge. You can choose a deft flick header by using minimal power and aiming for the direction the ball is already roughly headed, or you can send it back where it came from by aiming back towards the crosser.

The team with the ball is a comprehensive approach to all pass. Passing in each direction has its right choice. For example, in the running-mate, the other did not start, they should be given straight plug; the other side walk, we walk, we should precise pass; the other run, we run, they should be given the Y key pass over the top ball; the other side walk, we walk, and our players should stay away from a long pass. Sum formed a series of effective ball and go to the other side in the hinterland form the gate position. I like to keep all of them in between 40 and 66, just as to not upset the team balance, but again, which ever suits your game the most should take preference. If you like to pepper the goal with shots, bump the shooting up a bit. Do you cross the ball at every opportunity?

If so, you're a bit of a dick, but none the less, bump up your crossing. The same obviously goes for passing if you think you are Pep Guardiola. If you want to leave these as default then it shouldn't hinder the tactic too much, but keep the shape as 'Organised' again.
