The FIFA 16 Demo starts off by putting you right into a friendly match

I’m sure you’re going to be seeing tonnes of people talking about the FIFA 16 Demo, talking about all the new technical features and why it’s better than FIFA 15, however if you’re like me then you’re also going to want a very short, very human breakdown of what’s going on? All right? Here’s mine: For years I’ve been smashing in goals from all over the field, that’s not going to happen this year because they’ve made the shooting much, much harder. Even a one-on-one can end up with Cristiano Ronaldo turning Sunday League, kicking the floor and putting it out for a throw-in if you don’t time it right. FIFA 16 goes into wide release on September 22, but you can get your hands on a select number of teams - as well as try the new FIFA Ultimate Team Draft - ahead of time in early September. The demo goes live on September 8-10* on all of the game's platforms - PS4, Xbox One, PC, PS3, and 360.

Starting off with the gameplay, I immediately found a major difference in terms of the pacing. The pace of the game has been reduced and it no longer feels like an arcade football game unlike its last two installments. Speed has been nerfed and it’s for the good actually, the game feels more realistic and strategic at times. The AI of goalkeeper has been increased in terms of difficulty. The goalkeeper was able to parry almost all of my long range as well as finesse shots. This was pretty annoying at first. It was difficult to score goals because of the goalkeeper's supernatural ability of blocking all of my finesse shots. Regular as clockwork, we’re getting another FIFA game this year but before you go throwing your hard-earned cash at EA, it might be worth trying out the playable demo.

The FIFA 16 demo releasing from today with a staggered release across all platforms up until September 10th. If you’re a PS4 owner then you can dribble over to the PlayStation Store and download the demo now and start playing. The demo on PS4 is only 4.57GB, so it’s not too heavy on the hard drive. The defence may be a little shakey (how realistic!), but you will not be short of creating chances. Combine that with the pace and power of Diego Costa, you will not struggle to find the back of the net. Chelsea will be a very enjoyable team to use in this years’ FIFA and provide you with a chance to play good football in a creative team. Once the full game is published, the addition of Pedro will add speed and technical abilities to the team, as well as added depth to the defence through Baba Rahman.

The FIFA 16 Demo starts off by putting you right into a friendly match between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, which isn’t fair because they make you play as Real Madrid and my favorite team is FC Barcelona. Oh FIFA, you’ve done it again. You’ve started me on a great pathway with an amazing looking intro and commentary, then kicked me in the junk and tossed me a control. I always wonder how these games improve on graphics each year, it’s like they have a graphics machine that they crank up a notch each year. I also have to give a shot out to the crowd creator, I have never seen such a diverse bunch of spectators in a game. I’d also like to point out that the outfits are the realistic looking things in the game, they do great with the wind and motion that they would do when a person is moving.

This stands to be one of FIFA’s most expansive demo experiences yet. Modes include a standard kickoff option, along with new skill games, the new FIFA Trainer, and a FIFA Ultimate Team Draft. When launching the demo for the first time on the next-gen consoles, you will be thrown into El Clasico between Barcelona and Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu. Manchester City against Liverpool at Anfield, featuring the authentic Premier League broadcast presentation, was the intro match last year.

With teams like Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid available in the demo, the attacking strengths of these teams are too high as expected. Madrid have the highest average team rating 82.31 up until now. To conclude it all, FIFA 16 packs a punch this year. It no longer feels like an arcade game but a game that relies heavily on skill and strategy. All the additions to the game make sense and they help in making this the ultimate FIFA experience fans want for so long.
