EA Sports announced that brand new Legends are coming to FUT 16

As varied and as interesting as squad building can be in the main Ultimate Team modes, there is still an alarming regularity in which you'll come up against the archetypal Bundesliga and BPL squads. People love solid green links, and get that but it doesn’t always make for great matches, or great squad building. FUT Draft turns that notion on its head but in a short, sharp format which is really easy to pick up and put down as you need. Being played over just four games means you could quite conceivably build a squad, play the matches and collect your rewards in an hour and a half. And the great thing about it, is that all the coins you’re getting by completing matches, and anything extra you win in FUT Draft mode in prizes is all contributing to your main FUT experience, so it’s far from wasted effort.

The physical side of the game is where I get simultaneously very excited and very worried. Big men I will contend were nerfed last year. Whether it’s on offense or defense, they just felt out of place. Speed is always king in sports games, right or wrong, but it’s not a good sign that most players online went with short and fast over any sort of height. As of now, it feels like big men have some purpose again. On the ball, they continue to feel a bit scarier, which I think had already started to occur last year. But beyond that, they now feel more important on 50-50 balls in the air. I think headers and how to win them has been overly confusing in FIFA for years, but right now even if you’re still confused about where to align yourself, it feels like the big guys do have the advantage again. What concerns me is that the game is still a bit of a chaotic, physical mess.

Going with the tractor beam approach of rushing the ball and just going through the man to get it is far too viable still at this point. If you’re going to put so much effort into trying to give the defense more weapons and make it harder to move the ball through the midfield, you can’t then simultaneously allow so much physical play to go unchecked. A few teams were missing in the Major League Soccer in FIFA 16. The main reason I’m hoping this league will be accurate and complete in FIFA 16 is because of all of the players that are going to the USA in the twilight years of their careers. Pirlo plays for New York City FC, along with Frank Lampard and David Villa. Kaká plays for Orlando City SC. Both of these teams are not in FIFA 16, but here’s hoping we can play with them soon.

However, FIFA 16 has also de-emphasised the muscularity of last year in places - despite "Physical" replacing "Heading" as a base attribute - so it's harder for defenders to contain attackers just by tugging on their shoulder, while laying a hand on anyone in the penalty area results in a foul. These things, in combination with the way shooting and heading have been stifled and dribbling has been enhanced, mean that the most common approach by far is fast, technically capable teams. A typical XI usually includes two really fast attackers along with midfielders who can play quarterback to runners further downfield, and while that results in intense, end-to-end football, it is so much more effective than anything else that it also quickly becomes repetitive. Perhaps things will change over time as we learn the game better (and, I suspect, as EA issues the traditional balancing patch), but for the moment it feels like Ultimate Team isn't encouraging much variety in play style.

FIFA 16 Ultimate Team is actually a dream come true for all the players who usually like to experiment with the mode in question for a whole year and up to the exit of the new chapter of the franchise regular, ready to start all over again gladly. Now, they have the opportunity to manage their pink and buy new players virtually anywhere. Inevitably, who would want a football game suitable for some fast, you will be faced with very little experience varied and much less comprehensive than the previous offering mobile edition. EA Sports announced that brand new Legends are coming to FIFA Ultimate Team in FIFA 16 exclusively on Xbox One and Xbox 360. The two new additions are Landon Donovan and Alexi Lalas both US players.
