Blizzard has now opened up name reservation system for players

If you're as excited about WoW Classic as we are, then you're probably already chomping at the bit to get in and reserve your WoW Classic character name. The good news is, reservations are now open, right now, and we'll walk you through everything that you need to know to get started.

Many gamers who are drawn to World of Warcraft Classic feel that the vanilla version of the game puts a better focus on the RPG aspect of MMOs thanks to the punishing experience, weird class quirks, and other features that some might call quality of life downgrades. That said, this focus on RPG means that many players will put a lot of stock into their character names. Luckily, users with an active subscription can start reserving names on August 12. And if you want to buy WOW Classic Items, visit 5mmo.com, a professional online in-game currency store.

To do this, you need to have an active WoW subscription or recent game time with World of Warcraft in order to qualify. If you have that, then you can get started with the following steps:

Step 1: You need to install WoW if you don’t have it already.
Step 2: Go to the WoW page and select World of Warcraft classic from the “Versions” page, and you will also have to select your account.
Step 3: Pick which realm you want to play on.
Step 4: Go to Create a Character. You are allowed to create three characters right now per active WoW account, and you will pick their class, race and faction, as well as their name which you can reserve for live release. Once you make three, if you want a do-over, you have to delete one. Once you do, that name gets freed up again, so you have to reclaim it.

Blizzard has also announced other rules in regards to their WoW Classic launch and how the revamped system will work. For instance, players who choose to play on a PvP realm will only be able to create characters within the same faction. This means that if you create an Alliance character, all further characters on that realm must also be Alliance characters. And after WoW Classic is live, you’ll be able to create up to 10 characters on any given realm and can create a maximum of 50 characters across all WoW Classic realms.
