A new FIFA 17 teaser video has been released by EA Sports

FIFA 17 will not feature either Man Utd's Anthony Martial or Chelsea's Eden Hazard on the cover. Meanwhile, a new FIFA 17 teaser video has been released by EA Sports, promising new ways to finish in front of goal. Fronted by Manchester United and France forward Anthony Martial, the video shows the new 'driven finish' mechanic, which allows you to keep shots low in any circumstance.

Not only will you be able to drill finesse shots in to the bottom corner and volley downwards, you'll even be able to place headers towards the ground to wrong-foot the goalkeeper. There are also more options for quick counter attacks, with threaded through-passes that allow curled outside-of-the-boot throughballs to wrongfoot defenders. How many of these new techniques will be for advanced players only remains to be seen, but these nice FIFA 17 gameplay additions should at least make the other big addition more satisfactory: story mode.

EA announced today that FIFA 17 fans have chosen Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund to be the global cover athlete of EA SPORTS FIFA 17. FIFA 17 Super Deluxe Edition. This doubles the number of Gold Packs and three match team of the week loan players. The rest of the entitlements remain the same as the Deluxe Edition.  The votes are in, and Marco Reus gets the honour of being FIFA 17 cover star. The Borussia Dortmund and Germany winger beat stiff competition from Eden Hazard, Anthony Martial and James Rodriguez to appear on the front cover of the annual footballing addiction.

More than 3.1 million votes were cast to decide the cover star from the shortlist established by EA (there would be no campaign for an unlikley hero this time), which is interesting, given around 2 million people ended up buying FIFA 16. "I'm honoured to join a very distinguished group of footballers to appear on the cover of FIFA," said the German international upon the announcement being made official.

The same FIFA 17 editions are available on PC, although the pricing differs. Rs. 3,499 gets you FIFA 17 Standard Edition, while the FIFA 17 Deluxe Edition will set you back by Rs. 4,799. If you have your sights set on the FIFA 17 Super Deluxe Edition, expect to shell out Rs. 5,499. One notable thing about FIFA 17 is that it’s going to have a story mode, rather than a career mode for your team. In this story mode, called “The Journey“, you’re going to be playing as newcomer Alex Hunter, joining one of twenty different Premiere League teams as you make your way up the ranks.

While it isn’t the first story mode EA has tried in a sports game, it may be going about it a different way. The past two weeks has seen fans voting on the official FIFA Cover Vote Website for their favourite player among four FIFA 17 ambassadors, including James Rodriguez of Real Madrid, Anthony Martial of Manchester United, Eden Hazard of Chelsea and Marco Reus of Borussia Dortmund.
